This year I enrolled into a Certificate II in Horticulture course provided by my job services provider (JSP)! It’s been 2 years since the last course I've done, with no jobs in between. I was volunteering with my local Landcare at the time so with the experience I was accepted into the course & given a temporary job in the nursery industry, at a very lovely & old nursery! The experience was fantastic, & I've finally found the career I want to do! I finished my course & also received a chemical certificate, but now I no longer have a job.I'm back to job-hunting & relying on welfare payments again. I'm not happy being back in poverty, but now I know what I actually want to do in life & what my next steps are.I'm working on getting my provisional licenses first. Mum has always told me she wants to buy me a car. I live rural & its pretty much a necessity. I've been doing driving lessons almost weekly now & i feel like I'm doing great so far.My JSP is struggling to find a job for me here. Horticulture is not only very seasonal, but can have limited opportunities in the country. But they did have one opportunity for me after asking if I'm willing to move.Ok, so they want to move me to a very rural area 2hr from here & 1hr from the nearest town, onto a massive golf course / horse polo estate. Apparently the privately own village needs people to maintain gardens there. The golf course is extremely exclusive, only the richest & most famous can visit. Like, Tom Cruise is one person my JSP mentioned, & I found a post by Mark Walhburg (like, from the Ted movies) showcasing the golf course there via helicopter.& like ??? This is such a weird opportunity man. But it'll guarantee year-long full-time work in this industry, & sounds very exciting! If I accept I'll be renting a house for very cheap. The location doesn't get as hot as here (like 104°F is their max temp ever & we get several 113°F days here), & it doesn't get as cold as here either. The village has cinemas, go-karts, pools, their own supermarket.Like everything I need, & a job, in my dream career! Only con would be no phone service, but honestly being mostly offline & living a simple life is my dream.I think I'll accept this once I have a car.
